Vipers nail first win
THE AEGIS People Support Vipers finally barged into the win column while dealing the Calltek Trojans their first defeat via a 63-44 decision last Sunday in the 2011 Powerade E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.
Marc Ian Besario and Clifford Amarado both scored 18 points and combined for 11 rebounds, four steals and four assists, leading the Vipers’ breakthrough win after starting the tournament with two straight losses.
In other games, the Wipro Wildcats dispatched the Xlibris Publishers, 55-44, while the Stream Blue Devils dumped the Qualfon Knights, 76-62.
Reinario Salibay canned in 18 points, six rebounds, two steals and an assist, Dan Pestano added 10 points and six boards for the Wildcats, who improved to 2-2 (win-loss).
