15 more health workers contract COVID-19 as recoveries among them reach 1,228
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday reported 15 additional COVID-19 infections among healthcare workers in the Philippines, bringing the total cases to 2,452.
In a televised press briefing, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire noted of the continuous increase in recoveries involving health workers.
There are now 1,228 total recoveries as 35 more healthcare professionals successfully defeated the respiratory disease.
Meanwhile, the death toll remained at 31 as the DOH recorded no fatality among healthcare workers for almost two weeks now.
Of the total cases, 1,193 are deemed active cases.
The confirmed cases among healthcare workers account for nearly 16 percent of the country’s 15,588 total coronavirus infections.
