5.1-magnitude quake rocks La Union, other parts of Luzon
BAGUIO CITY –– A 5.1-magnitude earthquake shook parts of this northern Luzon on Thursday afternoon, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
In its earthquake bulletin, Phivolcs said the quake struck 17 kilometers northwest of San Fernando in La Union at 1:17 p.m. It has a depth of 81 km.
Intensity 4 was felt in Labrador town in Pangasinan, while intensity 3 was felt in Quezon City and Dagupan City.
Intensity 2 was felt here, in Navotas City, San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan, Vigan City, and San Jose in Nueva Ecija.
Intensity 1 was felt in Cabanatuan City, Guagua in Pampanga, Pasuquin in Ilocos Norte, Palayan City, San Ildefonso in Bulacan, and Baler in Aurora.
Phivolcs said there were no reports of damage.
