Cloudy skies over M. Manila, parts of Luzon, due to southwesterly wind
MANILA, Philippines – A southwesterly windflow which brought clouds over parts of Luzon including Northern Luzon and Metro Manila contributed to cloudy skies and isolated rains Tuesday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the eastern part of Visayas and Mindanao on the other hand would experience fair weather due to easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean.
The extreme northern Luzon meanwhile may also experience rains due to the frontal system near Taiwan, although Pagasa sees it moving away from the country’s northern tip.
‘Yong kahapon na frontal system na nakaka-apekto sa extreme northern Luzon ay ngayon po unti-unti na pong lumalayo sa ating bansa. Bukod dito, wala po tayong namo-monitor na panibagong low pressure area o bagyo sa loob at labas ng ating Philippine area of responsibility,” weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.
(The frontal system that affected the extreme northern Luzon yesterday is now slowly moving away from the country. Aside from this, we have not monitored any low pressure area or storms inside and outside the Philippine area of responsibility.)
Partly cloudy skies should be expected by the public on Wednesday, with a chance of isolated rains and thunderstorms. However, overall temperatures would remain warm, ranging from 27 to 32 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila, 27 to 34 degrees in Cebu City, and 26 to 35 degrees in Davao City.
