Zambales plea to be on modified ECQ approved

SAN ANTONIO, ZAMBALES—The Central Luzon Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) approved the request of the Zambales provincial government to extend the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the province for another 15 days or until May 31.

The IATF resolution, which was released on Wednesday (May 13), allowed the province to be placed under a modified ECQ from May 16 to 31.

The task force said local officials were in a better position to know what their areas needed.

This came after some provinces in Central Luzon, which should be on general community quarantine (GCQ), appealed for ECQ extensions.
