Magnitude 4.7 quake rocks Antique
MANILA, Philippines – A shallow magnitude 4.7 earthquake hit the town of Barbaza in Antique on Monday night, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
According to Phivolcs, the tectonic quake was recorded at 10:12 p.m. at 14 kilometers southeast of Barbaza, 16 kilometers below the ground.

The reported intensities were:

- Intensity II – Banga, and Malay, Aklan; Bago City, Negros Occidental

The instrumental intensities were:
- Intensity III – Malay and Malinao in Aklan, Culasi, San Jose de Buenavista in Aklan
- Intensity II – Bago City, Negros Occidental
- Intensity I – La Carlota City in Negros Occidental and in Iloilo City
No damage and no aftershocks have been recorded as of now. A tsunami alert was not raised despite the proximity of the wake to the waters west of Aklan.
