‘Bank on wheels’ rolls out in Caloocan City amid Luzon-wide quarantine
MANILA, Philippines — Caloocan City government launched on Wednesday its “bank on wheels” that will go to every barangays (villages) to assist residents who need to withdraw money amid the enhanced community quarantine over Luzon.
In a Facebook post, Caloocan Mayor Oscar Malapitan said the program will reduce the gathering of people near banks as money withdrawal will be available for residents who are required to stay in their homes.

“Ang programang ito ay bunga ng pagsusumikap ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Caloocan at sa pakikipagtulungan ng Philippine National Bank (PNB) upang mabawasan ang bilang ng mga taong pumipila sa mga ATM at bangko kung saan ang social distancing ngayong ipinapatupad ang Enhanced Community Quarantine,” he wrote.
(This program is initiated by the Caloocan government and Philippine National Bank to reduce people lining up at ATM and banks where social distancing must be in place during the enhanced community quarantine.)
Malapitan said residents can wait for the bank on wheels, which will be monitored by security guards, in their barangays.
