74-year-old male is latest COVID-19 case in Bicol
GUINOBATAN, Albay –– A 74-year-old man from Legazpi City with no travel history has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Tuesday, the Department of Health in Bicol said.
This new case brings the total number of cases in the region to 19 and the total number of cases in Albay province to 14. He is the fifth COVID-19 patient from Legazpi City.
“He consulted last April 13 at the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital due to fever and cough,” DOH Bicol director Dr. Ernie Vera said in a statement.
He said the man has “no travel history and his exposure history was still to be established.”
Dr. Antonio Ludovice, Albay public health officer, told The Inquirer that the man’s illness started on April 1. Since then, he had been on home quarantine, City Mayor Noel Rosal said.
“His residence is isolated. No lockdown has been required by DOH yet,” Rosal said on his social media post.
Article continues after this advertisement“The residents in that area are advised not to leave their homes while contact tracing is ongoing,” Rosal said.
