7 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Las Piñas; total now up at 78
MANILA, Philippines — Las Piñas City now has 78 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) after seven new cases were recorded, the local government said Tuesday.

Of the total 78 cases, seven have die from the viral disease, while 11 managed to recover.
On Monday, the Las Piñas City local government recorded 71 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
The Department of Health on Monday announced that COVID-19 cases in the Philippines have reached 4,932. Among the confirmed cases, there were 242 patients who recovered, while the fatalities were at 315.

The disease was caused by a novel coronavirus that was later named SARS-CoV-2 by the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses.
