COVID-19 cases in Bicol remain at 17, but 10 suspected carriers spotted

LEGAZPI CITY, Albay, Philippines — No new confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases were reported in Bicol on Saturday, with the figures remaining at 17, but 10 new patients were added to the list of those suspected of having the viral disease, according to the regional office of the Department of Health.

Of the 17 COVID-19 positive cases,  12 were in Albay province while five were in Camarines Sur, DOH said.

Of the confirmed cases, 10 patients recovered, four were admitted to designated quarantine hospitals, two were on home quarantine, and only one death was considered related to COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the DOH COVID-19 tracker reported that 10 additional persons under investigation were recorded, bringing to 176 the total suspected cases in the region.
