COVID-19 risks: Nurse in Subic hospital gets disease from patient
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — A 35-year-old nurse at the intensive care unit of a hospital in Subic Bay Freeport had been infected with COVID-19, health officials said.
The nurse, a resident of Castillejos town, was directly exposed to a COVID-19 patient being treated at the Allied Care Expert Medical Center-Baypointe Hospital, said Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director of Zambales province.
Bueno said the nurse was on duty since March 27 and manifested COVID-19 symptoms, like cough, colds and fever.
She was admitted to the same hospital on April 1 and was immediately isolated, Bueno said, noting that the nurse is in a stable condition.
