MANILA, Philippines — The Bulacan Medical Center (BMC) in Malolos, Bulacan on Thursday appealed for donations of personal protective equipment (PPEs) and other medical supplies to protect their health workers who continue to treat patients infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In a text message to INQUIRER.net, Alvin Rey De Jesus, office-in-charge of the hemodialysis unit of BMC, said they are in dire need of N95 masks, alcohol, and PPEs as they are running out of supplies to treat more patients.

“We have already placed our orders for PPEs long ago, but we haven’t received anything yet. We do need it badly, especially to those areas directly accepting patients, like our triage and emergency room, and all units catering persons under investigation and persons under monitoring,” he said.

He noted also noted that they have insufficient medical supplies because of delayed delivery of PPEs and other medical supplies.
