Masbate gov amends procedures on unloading cargoes to ports
LEGAZPI CITY –– Masbate Governor Antonio Kho has amended the order of requiring all cargoes to undergo a not less than 12-hour disinfection at the port before they are allowed entry into the province.
In an executive order signed on Wednesday, Kho said the cargoes would still undergo disinfection but would be unloaded immediately to avoid delay in the delivery of essential goods.
Earlier, truck drivers and helpers complained about Masbate port officials’ refusal to let them enter the area due to the lockdown orders of the province.
The interagency task force in Bicol has ordered Kho to comply with the quarantine guidelines on the unrestricted movement of cargoes delivering basic necessities.
In his Executive Order no. 8 released March 23, Kho imposed the strict health screening to ensure the curtailment and elimination of coronavirus disease 2019.
The health personnel would issue a health clearance certificate to crew members who had undergone a disinfection procedure.
