Taguig City records 12 cases of COVID-19, 55 PUIs
MANILA, Philippines — Twelve residents of Taguig City have so far tested positive of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) while 55 are currently under investigation.
Data released by the city government of Taguig on Sunday evening showed that half of the confirmed cases were recorded in Brgy. Fort Bonifacio, two in Upper Bicutan and one each from the barangays of Bambang, Ususan, Central Signal, and Maharlika Village.
The city also has 55 persons under investigation (PUIs), and eight persons under monitoring (PUMs). Meanwhile, 61 have already finished their 14-day quarantine and have been released by the city’s health authorities.
For barangays with PUMS and PUIs, residents are urged to cooperate as the city disinfects areas that have been frequented by the PUMs and PUIs, disclose all necessary information in light of the contact tracing activity being done, and closely monitor PUMs and PUIs for flu-like symptoms.
Barangays with no PUIs and PUMs, meanwhile, are asked to continue to monitor its area for possible cases, and report these immediately to the city; keep barangay safe by adhering to strict hand hygiene, cough etiquette, and social distancing; and be wary of movement into and out of communities. Anyone who had moved out or into their area must be closely monitored.
