Window hours to buy basic needs depend on LGU decision–PNP
MANILA, Philippines — The window hours for people to buy basic needs during the enhanced community quarantine will only depend on the decision of local government units (LGUs), the Philippine National Police said on Saturday.
“Kung san tayo na-ro-roon, sa ating mga local chief executives, kung sila nagpatupad ng specific window hours na yan, applicable lang yan sa lokalidad. Generally, sa PNP wala tayong ganung pahayag,” PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac said in a Laging Handa press briefing on Saturday.
(Wherever we are, to our local chief executives, if they imposed window hours, it is only applicable to their localities. Generally, the PNP has no authority to implement that.)
Banac reminded that only one person per household is required to go outside to buy basic necessities like food for the family, noting that 24-hour strict home quarantine for other members of the family is necessary to halt the spread of the coronavirus disease.
He also clarified that no window hours or revisions of curfew hours were imposed from the guidelines of the government’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the quarantine period.
