Boy killed in drive-by shooting
MANILA, Philippines—A 14-year-old out-of-school youth was killed Saturday evening in San Andres, Manila, in a drive-by shooting incident.
Julius Cesar Venzon, of 4 Osmeña Highway, San Andres, was shot from a moving green taxi, witnesses told the Manila Police District. He sustained a single gunshot wound.
Venzon was standing with a friend at the corner of Osmeña Highway and Vito Cruz when a gunshot rang out from a passing taxi with no plate number. The bullet hit Venzon on the right side of his torso.
The taxi sped away toward Quirino Avenue. Venzon was taken to the Ospital ng Maynila, but was dead on arrival.
Police Officer 1 Ritchie Calilagagan of the MPD Homicide section, in a report, said that the shooting could have been perpetrated by an enemy of the victim.
