Taguig Police restrict access to C-6 Road after city declared lockdown
MANILA, Philippines – Taguig City Police officers and security personnel of Barangay San Miguel in the city on Wednesday restricted access on Seagull Avenue which is one of the entry points to the C-6 Road.
Police and barangay personnel placed barricades along the avenue at around 9:30 a.m. as they also warded off motorists saying that only residents in the area are being allowed to enter.
According to barangay security personnel manning the barricade, the restriction of access to the C-6 Road is part of the lockdown being enforced by the Taguig City government.

Taguig City enforced the lockdown midnight of Tuesday, March 17 in a bid to prevent the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) from spreading.
Article continues after this advertisementThe city government said on Tuesday that starting midnight of Tuesday, entry to and exit from Taguig will no longer be allowed, except for the delivery of basic goods and supplies.
Article continues after this advertisement“For the safety of our Citizens and Stakeholders and to help contain the spread of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), Mayor Lino Cayetano has ordered the lockdown of Taguig City,” the city government said in a Facebook post.
The city government added that supermarkets, groceries, convenience stores, and banks will remain open during the lockdown. It added that it is working to help small groceries and sari-sari stores to have a working supply chain.
“They will be allowed to operate under strict barangay monitoring and social distancing rules,” it said.
