Drilon tests negative for coronavirus

MANILA, Philippines — Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon tested negative for the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Drilon told INQUIRER.net on Monday that he got tested for the virus last Friday and was informed on Monday by the Department of Health (DOH) that he did not contract the disease.

“I had myself tested last Friday. DOH informed me today I am negative,” he said in a text message.

In a separate interview, Senate Majority Leader Miguel Zubiri also revealed the good news about Drilon and the Senate Minority Leader’s wife.

“I think Senator Drilon just texted that he’s negative together with his wife,” Zubiri said in an interview over CNN Philippines.

Zubiri earlier announced he tested positive for the virus.
