2 robbers proved no match to brave jeepney passenger
Courage paid off for a jeepney passenger who dared to defy two holdup men on Friday afternoon in Ermita, Manila.
The refusal of complainant Sergio Magno, of Novaliches, Quezon City, to give up his belongings in a jeepney robbery along T.M Kalaw St. got him a smack to the head with a gun, but it started a commotion that led to the arrest of the robbers.
Manila Police District Intelligence Operations Unit chief
Insp. Daniel Buyao reported that Batang City Jail members Niel Sakro, 40, of Caloocan City, and Bencio Aronsado, 42, of Sta. Cruz, Manila, are now facing robbery-holdup complaints after they were arrested by members of a MPD patrol who had responded to the commotion.
The suspects had boarded the jeepney on T.M. Kalaw along with Magno, and had tried to rob him at knifepont.
When Magno put up a fight, he was hit on the head with a gun, causing the other passengers to start screaming, which then called the attention of police patrolling the area.
