Navy chief, Sara Duterte, 20 other military officers get CA panel’s nod
MANILA Philippines – The ad interim appointments and nominations of 22 senior officers in the Armed Forces of the Philippines, including Navy chief Vice Admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo and presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, have been approved by a panel of the Commission on Appointments (CA).
Aside from Bacordo and Duterte-Carpio, who was appointed Colonel in the AFP’s Reserve Force, the CA’s committee on national defense also recommended the confirmation of 20 other military officers:
1. Edgar Crisanto Violan to the rank of Colonel, Philippine Army (reserve)
2. Marcelino Randy Tibayan to the rank of Major General
3. William Ilagan to the rank of Major General
4. Arthur Cordura to the rank of Major General

The panel’s recommendation will be transmitted to the CA plenary for consideration.
