Multicab driver charged for death of teacher in Ormoc

ORMOC CITY –– Charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide were filed against a multicab driver, who bumped a motorcycle in Barangay Naghalin, Kananga town in Leyte last Sunday afternoon.

Amado Culanggo, 63, was held responsible for the death of Meralyn Ansale, 36, a public school teacher.

Police investigation showed that Ansale and her husband Pocholo were traversing the national highway on board a motorcycle when a multicab driven by Culanggo bumped the rear portion of the motorcycle.

The couple suffered multiple injuries in different parts of their bodies.

Rescue groups brought the couple to the Ormoc Doctors Hospital for medical treatment, but Ansale died while being treated.
