CAB to airline firms: Follow travel limits on South Korea
MANILA, Philippines — The Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) on Friday directed all airlines to follow the travel restrictions imposed on South Korea, especially on North Gyeongsang province, Daegu City, and Cheongdo county.
The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-EID) earlier ordered a temporary travel ban on any Filipino tourist going to South Korea, and travelers to and from North Gyeongsang, Daegu, and Cheongdo.
The ban on travel to South Korea, however, exempts “permanent residents of South Korea, Filipinos leaving for study, and Filipinos working in South Korea”. But they would be required to first sign a “written declaration acknowledging the risks which will be complemented with a health advisory.”
Meanwhile, the ban to-and-from North Gyeongsang, Daegu, and Cheongdo exclude Filipinos with foreign spouse and children, holders of Permanent Resident Visa, and holders of 9(e) Diplomat Visas.
As of February 28, more than 83,000 people in at least 45 countries were infected with the deadly novel coronavirus.
