Logos Hope offers onboard events

Cebu will have a “new street in town” with the arrival of Logos Hope, the world’s largest floating book fair.

The ship offers onboard events for visitors, aside from its array of books.

A highlight of the ship’s visit will be a special event onboard for Cebu’s schoolchildren.

The hour-long “Greatest Treasure” presentation will take kids on an imaginary voyage with an eccentric pirate crew. This interactive program includes games, a puppet show and a Christ-centered message of hope.

The event includes educational book fair. Logos Hope offers an expanded selection of over 5,000 titles at affordable prices. They cover a range of subjects including science, sports, hobbies and family life.

With children’s titles, academic texts, dictionaries, atlases and more, the book fair is something the whole family can enjoy.

Visitors can also witness Logos Hope’s Life Experience presentation, an interactive display that presents the facts about HIV/AIDS in a simple and non-threatening way through a fictitious story about a young man’s life choices.

The rest of the Visitor Experience deck is also open for the public to explore, such as the welcome area, which introduces the new vessel through a short movie and interactive displays, to the International Café, which has ice cream, drinks and snacks for sale.

MV Logos Hope will open to the public at the Malacañang Berth in Cebu City from Jan. 11 until Feb. 12. The ship is open from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday through Saturday, and from 1 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Sunday. The ship is closed on Monday.

Tickets cost P20 each. Entry is free for children below 12 years old. Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult. The ship also accepts bookings free of charge for field trip or school outing. For more information, please call Felicia Thong at 0943-3238062.
