Cash rewards given to winning Pasay athletes in 2019 SEA Games

MANILA, Philippines — Winning athletes in the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, who are residents of Pasay, were given cash rewards by the city government.

In a statement on Wednesday, Pasay Public Information Office said Pasay Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano rendered cash incentives to six winners of the 30th SEA Games, which was held from Nov. 30 to Dec. 11 in the Philippines.

The winners from Pasay are Jedah–Mae Soriano (Arnis, gold); Joshua Gleen Bullo (Sepak Takraw, bronze); John John Bobier (Sepak Takraw, gold); Whok Dimapilis (Sailing, gold); Colleen Jem Ferrer (Sailing, silver); and Jeanalane Lopez (Judo, bronze).

Rubiano urged athletes to deliver inspirational and motivational talks to aspiring athletes among Pasay students.

“They would love to hear your stories, your trials, your perseverance, and your triumph,” the mayor said.

The PIO, however, did not disclose the amount given by the city hall on the request of athletes.
