LEGAZPI CITY –– At least four volcanic quakes on Mayon Volcano were recorded in the past 24-hour observation period of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.

In its bulletin on Tuesday morning, Phivolcs said Mayon remained at Alert Level 2 (moderate level of unrest).

The public is advised not to enter the six kilometer-radius Permanent Danger Zone and the seven-kilometer Extended Danger Zone in the south-southwest to east-northeast sector as explosions, lava collapse, pyroclastic density currents, and ashfall may occur without warning.

Aircraft should also avoid flying close to the volcano’s summit as explosions might bring airborne ash and ballistic fragments.
