GenSan bans foreigners from nCoV-hit countries

GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Philippines — Legislators here have placed the city under a state of calamity to heighten precautionary measures against the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) among the locals.

Approved was the temporary ban on the entry of foreigners from nCoV-affected countries, among them China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Australia, Belgium, Cambodia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Russia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Republic of Korea, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States and Vietnam.

The city also sought the release of some P10 million to build an isolation facility and buy needed equipment, medicines and supplies to fight nCoV.
