Vehicle theft spree in Manila

MANILA, Philippines—A wave of vehicle theft had hit Manila since Tuesday wherein three motorbikes and one car were stolen, police said on Wednesday.

Two Yamaha Mio Soul motorbikes were stolen while parked inside a compound on Sobredad Street in Sampaloc at around 3 a.m., according to police reports at the Manila Police District Anti-Carnapping and Hijacking unit. Donabelle Anne de Leon, 27, lost her motorcycle with plate number 9353-TK. Alejandro Abuel, 30, also lost his motorcycle with plate number 9753-TI.

Police said Fernando Sumagui’s SYM Euro motorbike with plate number 1616-NR was also stolen while parked on Singalong Street in Paco, Manila at around 2 p.m..

Marlon Asuncion also lost his Honda Civic with plate number WLX-853 to unidentified robbers at around 2:20 a.m. Wednesday on F. Cayco Street in Sampaloc, Manila.
