Man hurts couple over stinking toilet
LUCENA CITY — A man and his wife were seriously injured after another man hit them several times in this city before midnight Monday.
A report from the Lucena police, said Joel Flores, 33, had a heated argument with Joven Torres and his wife Imelda, over a foul-smelling toilet in their neighborhood in Barangay Isabang around 11 p.m.
The argument reportedly enraged Flores, who was under the influence of alcohol, and hit Joven’s head with a steel tube and also threw a stone at Imelda.
Joven suffered an open wound and crack on his skull, while his wife sustained a lump on her forehead. They were rushed by their relatives to the Quezon Medical Center.
Citing information from the victims, police said the toilet had long been unused due to a blocked sewerage system.
Responding policemen arrested the suspect who was still in the area around 2 a.m. Tuesday. He was detained at the city police jail.
