LOOK: Senate session hall packed with Cabinet members for 1st nCoV inquiry
MANILA, Philippines — At least 13 Cabinet members have showed up on Tuesday for the first Senate inquiry into the Philippine government’s preparedness for the 2019-novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak.
Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. was the first to arrive. Education Secretary Leonor Briones entered the Senate session hall wearing a face mask.

Among the Cabinet members who arrived at the Senate for the hearing, which will be led by health committee chair Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, were Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, National Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Transport Secretary Arthur Tugade, Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, Social Welfare Secretary Rolando Bautista, Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez, Finance Secretary Sonny Dominguez, National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Secretary Ernesto Pernia, and Communications Secretary Martin Andanar.

Dr. Rabinda Abeyasinghe, World Health Organization representative to the Philippines is also at the Senate.
The Philippines currently has two confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus.
One of the two patients, a 44-year-old Chinese man from Wuhan City, died on Saturday, according to the Department of Health (DOH).
