SAN PEDRO CITY — A suspected drug pusher was killed in a shootout with the police in Mabitac town in Laguna province on Saturday.

A report from the Laguna police identified the suspect as William Garcia, who was included in the police watchlist for illegal drug personalities in the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon region.

But instead of yielding to the authorities, Garcia allegedly fired gunshots prompting the shootout. The suspect was killed on the spot.

Police recovered about 50 grams of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) worth P250,000. They also found two .38 caliber guns and an improvised shotgun in the suspect’s home./lzb
