In Malaysia, drunk son chops off father’s hand in argument

SUNGAI PETANI, Malaysia — A contract worker’s right wrist was severed when slashed by his son during a family argument at Taman Keladi here on Tuesday (Jan 28).

Kuala Muda OCPD Asst Comm Adzli Abu Shah said the victim was arguing with his wife when their 29-year-old son intervened to calm down the situation.

However, he said the man chased out by his son who later returned home around 8.30pm and attacked the older man with a machete.

“The victim, aged 53, was slashed on the wrist when shielding himself from the attack,” he said in a statement here on Wednesday (Jan 29).

He said both the victim and his son, were believed to be drunk, at that time.

Police have detained the younger man, who has a previous record for causing hurt, for investigation. Bernama
