2 Grade 10 students caught with marijuana in school

LEGAZPI CITY—Two grade 10 students were caught with suspected dried marijuana leaves in Virac town, Catanduanes province on Wednesday (Jan. 29) afternoon.

Maj. Bon Billy Timuat, chief of Virac police, said Rommel Rodriguez, security guard of a private school in Virac, discovered the drugs during a classroom inspection.

“The guard was curious about what they (students) were doing inside the vacant room,” Timuat said.

Seized from the 17-year-olds were dried leaves believed to be marijuana wrapped in a piece of paper, a glass tooter, black purse and two unzipped transparent sachets with suspected marijuana residue.

The minors were brought to the Women and Children’s Protection Desk of the police for medical examination and would be turned over to social workers.
