P4.5M worth of alcoholic drinks recovered in fake hijacking

LEGAZPI CITY –– Police operatives from Albay and Quezon provinces recovered three trucks loaded with P4.5 million worth of alcoholic drinks, which was allegedly hijacked in Lopez, Quezon, while on its way to Bicol.

Captain Dexter Panganiban, spokesperson of the Albay police, said two 10-wheeler trucks were intercepted by the police operatives in Barangays Cuyaoyao and Caratagan in Pio Duran town in Albay at 6:11 p.m. on Monday.

Another truck was found in Barangay 1, Pier Site, Bacacay, Albay. Panganiban said the trucks were loaded with 1,500 boxes of Emperador Double Light Brandy each, or a total of 4,500 cases.

The trucks came from Sta. Rosa City in Laguna and was bound for Albay, Catanduanes, and Masbate via the ports of Bacacay and Pio Duran.
