3 ‘bookies’ arrested in Quezon

LUCENA CITY – Three suspected illegal bet collectors or “bookies”  were arrested in Tiaong and Lopez towns in Quezon province on Sunday, police said Monday.

Anti-illegal gambling operatives arrested Anatolio Abilgos while collecting bets in Barangay (village) Canda Ibaba, Lopez at around 2:30 p.m., Colonel Audie Madrideo, Quezon police chief, said in a report.

Serafin Ramos was also arrested while illegally collecting bets in the same village around 1 p.m.

In Tiaong town, police arrested Luisito Supello while gathering bets in Barangay Poblacion 2, Tiaong around 11:30 a.m.

The suspects failed to produce legitimate identification cards issued by Pirouette Gaming Corp., the licensed Small Town Lottery operator in the province, the report said.
