Search still on for boy who fell in QC creek

MANILA, Philippines — Authorities are still searching for the 11-year-old boy who accidentally fell into a creek in Barangay Obrero, Quezon City and has been missing since Thursday.

According to a report from the Quezon City Police District Station 10 (Kamuning), the boy and his two friends were trying to get a ball that they saw on the creek on Parkway Street corner Tomas Morato Avenue at about 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Police said the boy climbed on the barrier of the creek but lost his balance that caused him to fall into the creek.

Personnel of the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Philippine Coast Guard launched a search drive but decided to halt operations at about 10 p.m. due to poor visibility in the area.

Rescue operations resumed on Friday morning.
