NCRPO to resume crackdown on cops who play golf while on duty
BATANGAS CITY, Philippines — After Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Archie Gamboa relieved three senior Central Visayas police officers for playing golf during office hours, the leadership of Metro Manila’s police force will resume its crackdown on officers who will play golf during office hours.

NCRPO acting chief Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas on Thursday said he will order the resumption of the anti-golfing order.
Sinas said the monitoring of Metro Manila police officers who will play golf during office hours was suspended during the holiday season and during the recent Traslacion as all NCRPO personnel were all on alert.
“Nandoon ‘yung monitoring namin, eh walang nahuli. Tutal hindi naman nila alam ire-recall ko, ni-recall ko suddenly para sa Christmas, New Year, at saka sa Traslacion,” Sinas said at the sidelines of NCRPO’s relief operations here.

(Now that there were police officers who were caught playing golf, I will bring back the monitoring. We were just busy.)
Sinas added that he has coordinated with other stakeholders to report to the NCRPO if any of its police officers will be caught playing golf during work hours.
Sinas added that he will not allow police officers to play golf any time of the week. Sinas said police officers should not be focused on playing golf as it is a time-consuming sport.
“Anytime of the day, sisibakin ko yan kasi bawal sa akin ang mag-golf anytime of the week kasi dito sa NCRPO, kailangan natin ng close monitoring ng mga tao,” the police official said.
(I will immediately relieve police officers who will be caught playing golf because I prohibit any police officer to play golf in any time of the week.)
Last October, Sinas said he will be strict on police officers playing golf and those involved in gambling.
