PIO DURAN, Albay –– The local government unit and residents of Pio Duran town in Albay province donated a variety of seafood to Taal volcano eruption victims.

“We delivered 100 styro/boxes containing assorted fish, 20 sacks of rice, several pieces of dried fish (tinapa and tuyo) and noodles to Padre Garcia town (in Batangas),” Pio Duran Mayor Alan Arandia said.

Aside from food, they also gave clothes and medicines in other towns in Batangas affected by the eruption.

As of Thursday, Taal Volcano remains under Alert Level 4 as it continues to show heightened activity since its phreatic or the steam-driven eruption last Jan. 12./lzb
