Comelec resumes voter registration on Monday
MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will resume on Jan. 20 its continuing registration of voters for the May 9, 2022 national and local elections and it will last for more than 20 months until Sept. 30, 2021.
Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said they were expecting around 4.3 million people to register.
Those who will be at least 18 years of age on or before election day; residents in the Philippines for at least one year and in the place where he or she intends to vote for at least six months on or before election day, may register.
Registered voters as of the May 13, 2019 midterm elections need not register anew, the poll body said.—Tina G. Santos
