Navotas fire displaces 5 families
MANILA, Philippines — Five families lost their houses on Monday night in Navotas City, after a fire that reached the first alarm broke out in Barangay North Bay Boulevard South.
According to reports, the blaze started at the second floor of Jaime Salonga’s house on Martiniko Street at 9:59 p.m.
Neighbors immediately called up the Navotas City Fire Station whose firemen responded and put out the blaze in less than 30 minutes.
Although the cause remains under investigation, residents suspected that the fire may have been due to faulty electrical wiring.
Case investigator Police Cpl. Paul Roma said that there were no reported casualties or injuries.
