28-year-old motorcyclist killed, 4 hurt in Isabela 5-vehicle crash

TUMAUINI, ISABELA, Philippines – A 28-year-old motorcyclist was killed after being pinned underneath an Elf truck in a five-vehicle crash at 8:45 p.m. on Friday (Jan.3) that also left four others, including a police officer, hurt.

Isabela police director Col. Mariano Rodriguez, said construction worker Ano Lorenzo was pinned underneath the truck driven by Jayson Galiza, 44; after he overtook another vehicle at the national road along Barangay (village) Santa.

A Navarra pick-up truck, a second motorcycle, and a tricycle then slammed into the two vehicles after they failed to stop in time.

Hurt in the crash were Galiza, Police Capt. Efren Padua Tangonon, 49, member of the Isabela Provincial Mobile Force Company; motorcycle rider John Isac Mariano, 31; and tricycle driver Bernard Balingao, 51.
