DZIQ: MRT train coach gets detached; no one hurt
MANILA, Philippines – None of the passengers of a Metro Rail System (MRT) train was hurt after its third coach got detached from the rest of the train while traveling from Quezon Avenue to Kamuning Monday morning, according to a Radyo Inquirer report, quoting an MRT official.
Lawyer Hernando Cabrera, spokesman, according to the report, said that the train was equipped with an emergency break which prevented further complications. He added that the passengers walked on the train tracks.
The defective train is en route to the MRT depot, the report said, where technicians would examine what may have caused the third coach to separate from the rest of the train.
