‘Lambanog’ victims leave hospital against advice

/ 04:34 AM December 25, 2019

MANILA, Philippines — Some of those undergoing treatment due to “lambanog” poisoning in Laguna have decided to go home to spend Christmas with their families, according to the Department of Health.

At a press briefing at East Avenue Medical Center in Quezon City, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said three of the patients brought to the hospital have absconded while 11 others left against medical advice.

He urged those who consumed the palm wine and left the hospital against medical advice to return should they experience chest and abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, hyperventilation, dimming of eyesight and compulsions.—Tina G. Santos
