Passengers swell to 78K at various ports ahead of Christmas Day

MANILA, Philippines — More than 78,000 passengers wishing to go home to their provinces have started to flock at various ports across the country days ahead of the celebration of Christmas.

Data obtained from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) show that a total of 78,931 passengers were recorded in ports from 6:01 a.m. to 12 noon Friday.

The bulk of passengers was recorded at Western Visayas ports, which are Antique, Aklan, Iloilo, Capiz, Guimaras, with 14,598 passengers.

This is followed by Southern Tagalog ports with 10,809 passengers and Central Visayas ports with 10,581 outbound passengers.
