Some rain, some sun for New Year’s weekend

CEBU and Bohol will be overcast with sunny intervals and light rain till Monday, Jan. 2.  Then it’s sunny periods up to Wednesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) in the Visayas.

The dominant weather system affecting the country is the northeast monsoon, the tail-end of a cold front and wind convergence.

Negros Oriental and Occidental, and Siquijor will be cloudy with light rain then moderate to heavy rain today. Skies will be cloudy with sunny periods and light rain from Sunday to Tuesday.

Bacolod, Aklan and Iloilo will be cloudy with sunny periods and light rain Saturday to Sunday then sunny from Monday to Tuesday.

Caticlan, Roxas is partly cloudy with sunny periods and light rain  in the afternoon till Tuesday.  The rest of Samar and Leyte province will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rain, at times heavy, till Sunday then light rain till Tuesday.
