‘weed’ peddlers nabbed

LUCENA CITY – Police arrested two suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) peddlers, both reportedly included in the drug watch list, in a buy-bust operation in Candelaria town in Quezon province Saturday afternoon, police said.

The suspects, John Modesto Biluan, 25; and Roylan Vasquez, 23, were collared by anti-illegal drugs operatives after the duo sold drugs to a police agent and a civilian informant in a transaction in Barangay (village) Mangilag Sur Norte around 2 p.m.

Authorities seized five plastic sachets of “shabu” worth P7,273 in street value from the suspects.

The suspects are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (Republic Act No. 9165).
