TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested an alleged human trafficker and rescued four women here Tuesday afternoon.

Lawyer Glenn Damasing of the National Bureau of Investigation NBI-Bohol, said the women, aged 26, 27, 30, and 40 were allegedly being sold for sex for P3,500 to P4,000 each.

“The case stemmed from information received by NBI regarding the human trafficking operations of the suspect,” Damasing said.

The victims were brought to NBI Office where they were interviewed by Cerina Sia, the officer-in- charge of the City Social Welfare and Development Office.

Mary (not her real name) said it was Angalot who contacted her and the other girls and were offered P3,000.

Angalot, however, denied the allegation.

She said the four women are her friends.

Angalot will be charged for violating the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012.
