Tropical Storm Ramon slightly weakens; Signal No. 1 up in 13 Luzon towns

MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Storm Ramon has slightly weakened and is almost stationary as it travels eastward of Cagayan province, the state weather bureau said Friday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that as of 4 p.m. Friday, Ramon was 460 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City and packing maximum winds of up to 65 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

Still, however, Pagasa said it has raised Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 over the eastern portion of Cagayan (Santa Ana, Gonzaga, Lal-lo, Gattaran, Baggao, and Peñablanca), eastern portion of Isabela (Maconacon, Divilacan, Palanan, and Dinapigue), and Northern Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran, and Dinalungan).

According to Pagasa’s 5 p.m. weather bulletin, light to moderate with at times heavy rains may be experienced over the eastern portions of Cagayan, Isabela, and Northern Aurora on Saturday.
