BARMM health ministry extends medical services to over 7,000 Moros
MANILA, Philippines — Over 7,000 Moros in the province of Tawi-Tawi received medical services from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao’s Ministry of Health (BARMM-MOH).
In a statement on Monday, BARMM-MOH said it conducted a massive medical mission for more than 7,000 Moros who attended the 639th Founding Anniversary of Shiekh Almakhdum Mosque in the municipality of Simunul.
Dr. Saffrulah Dipatuan, BARMM’s Minister of Health, said, “Celebrations like this provide (a) perfect opportunity for us to deliver to thousands of our brothers and sisters the Tulong Alay sa Bangsamorong Nangangailangan humanitarian program of BARMM’s Chief Minister Al-Hajj Murad.”
Dipatuan led the medical mission where he brought doctors, nurses, and volunteers, the BARMM-MOH noted.
Aside from medical consultation, they also provided circumcisions, dental services, eye screening, and blood sugar testing.
Free medicines were also donated to cure common illnesses and vitamin deficiency within the province.
