Van rams, kills 81 year-old bet collector in Quezon highway
LUCENA CITY – A speeding commuter van rammed and killed an 81-year old pedestrian along Maharlika Highway in Atimonan, Quezon Monday night, police said.
The Atimonan police said Rolando Montejo Sr., a Small Town Lottery bet collector, was crossing the highway in Barangay Tagbakin at around 6:20 p.m. when he was hit by the van driven by Robert Dosdo, 42.
Rescuers immediately brought the badly injured Montejo to Doña Marta Hospital.

He, however, expired along the way.
The van driver was detained at the local police jail while appropriate charges are being prepared./gsg
