Man spills used oil, leaves notes on Ninoy, Cory tombs

Police are looking for a man who vandalized the tomb of President Aquino’s parents presumably over the weekend at Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque City.

In a phone interview, city police chief Senior Superintendent Billy Beltran said the incident was reported to authorities by members of the Presidential Security Group on Sunday.

Beltran said the man spilled black liquid, later discovered to be                  used oil, on top of the tombs of martyred Senator Benigno Aquino Jr. and his wife, former President Corazon Aquino.

Scribbled notes were also taped onto the sides of the tombs.

“From what we read in the messages, the act appears to be the handiwork of a person who was not in the right frame of mind,” he added.

The police official described the notes as “incoherent.” Written in Filipino, much of the legible portion of the notes was about the dance group “Sex Bomb,” he said.

The Sex Bomb Girls gained popularity about a decade ago for their sexy dances shown on a popular television noontime show.

Witnesses told police that the man had been spotted lingering near the tomb for quite some time, but was later shooed away.

In 1988, the elder Aquino’s tomb was pried open by vandals, but authorities said the body was left untouched.
